Glue-Down Installation
Desire Herringbone uses a 4.5mm waterproof vinyl construction with a 0.5mm wear layer and P3 slip rating. Each 914.4 x 152.4mm plank has a matte embossed surface and is installed using a glue-down method. Together, these details give customers a clear basis for comparing overall thickness, surface wear, grip, plank proportions and installation requirements. Herringbone set-out requires more planning than a straight-plank floor, so the substrate should be smooth, dry and correctly prepared before the pattern is established. Confirm adhesive selection, expansion details, wastage allowance and site conditions with the current installation guide and installer.
Bishop, Bradford, Evers, Harper, Lopez, Nolan, Nune and Thorsen form a focused eight-colour collection. The repeated herringbone layout makes grain direction and tonal variation more prominent than they appear on one plank, so compare several pieces together where possible. Lighter finishes can keep the pattern subtle, while warmer or deeper colours make it a stronger architectural feature. Review samples in the intended room and plan the centreline, border cuts and direction before installation begins.
Herringbone creates a more detailed, patterned layout than standard straight plank flooring. This can make the floor feel more designed and visually interesting, especially in living areas, entries or open spaces where you want the flooring pattern to add character.
Colours include Bishop, Bradford, Evers, Harper, Lopez, Nolan, Nune and Thorsen. The selection is focused, which helps when choosing herringbone flooring because both the colour and repeated pattern influence the finished look.
Yes. Herringbone can feel more detailed once repeated across a full room, so sampling is a smart step. A sample helps you check the tone, grain direction and pattern effect before committing to one colour for the entire space.
Compare the visual impact first. Desire Herringbone is priced at $48.95 per square metre, reduced from an RRP of $63.95 per square metre, but the main difference is the patterned finish. Choose it when you want the floor to be more of a design feature.
