Australian Native suits long-term homes where genuine Australian hardwood should remain the visual focus. As a engineered timber flooring, it uses a real Blackbutt, Spotted Gum, Brush Box, Blue Gum or related native veneer over a stable engineered construction with a factory-applied Bona finish. The result is a genuine timber floor rather than a printed imitation, with knots, grain and colour changing naturally between boards. A qualified installer should check the subfloor and site conditions, and routine care should focus on dry cleaning, prompt spill removal and protection at entries and furniture legs.
Each species carries its own natural colour movement, hardness and grain, so this is not simply a choice between light and dark. Blackbutt is warm and versatile, Spotted Gum is highly varied, Brush Box carries pink-red notes and Blue Gum adds richer reddish-brown colour. Hurford Australian Native is a strong option if you want the look and feel of real Australian hardwood in a stable engineered format. The hardwood lamella gives each board natural grain and colour variation, while the Hevea core helps support structural stability for everyday living spaces.
Each board is finished with six applications of UV coating to help protect the timber surface. This supports durability while keeping the floor’s natural matte appearance, making it a practical choice for homes where you want real timber warmth with added surface protection.
Hurford Australian Native includes a glueless joining system, designed to make installation quicker and cleaner than traditional glue-down timber methods. Professional installation is still recommended if you want the best result, especially where subfloor preparation, layout and expansion gaps need to be handled properly.
